Privacy Policy for Barbell Calculator
This privacy policy describes how David Medawar (“we,” “us”) handles information in connection with the Barbell Calculator mobile application (“Barbell Calculator,” the “App”) and https://www.numberninjasmaths.com/barbell-calculator-privacy (this policy page). By using the App, you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect on your device
Barbell Calculator is designed to work primarily on your device. The App stores preferences and related configuration (for example, unit settings, haptic preferences, bar weight preferences, and your plate inventory setup) locally on your device. We do not operate our own servers that receive or store this App configuration data.
We do not require you to create an account and we do not ask for your name or email inside the App.
2. Purchases
If you purchase optional features, payment processing is handled by Apple through In-App Purchase. We do not receive your full payment card details. Apple may provide us limited information needed to validate purchases and unlock features (for example, that a purchase occurred). See Apple’s privacy policy for how Apple handles your data.
3. Information you send to us voluntarily
If you contact us by email (for example, for support), we receive only what you choose to send (such as your email address and message content). We use that only to respond and improve the App.
4. Analytics and crash reporting (no ads)
To understand how the App is used and to fix problems, we use Google Firebase services in the App:
Firebase Analytics (linked to Google Analytics 4) — anonymous usage events, such as which screens or features are used (for example, weight vs stack mode, paywall views, load success or failure). We do not log your name, email, or account details because the App has no sign-in.
Firebase Crashlytics — anonymous crash and error reports to improve stability.
Firebase Performance — anonymous timing data (for example, how long certain operations take).
This data is used only to operate and improve Barbell Calculator. We do not use the App for third-party advertising, and we do not use it to track you across other companies’ apps or websites for ads.

Apple may also provide aggregated App Store analytics separate from Firebase.
5. Children’s privacy
Barbell Calculator is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has contacted us with personal information, email us and we will take appropriate steps.
6. Data retention and security
Data stored only on your device stays under your control (for example, if you delete the App). Analytics and crash data retained by Firebase/Google are subject to their retention policies and our configuration in those services. Email you send us is kept only as long as needed to respond and for ordinary records, unless law requires longer.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding personal information. Because typical App use does not involve an account or a database of users on our servers, there may be little for us to access beyond email you sent us. You can limit analytics on your device through iOS privacy settings (for example, limiting tracking or resetting the advertising identifier). Uninstalling the App stops further analytics from that installation.
8. International users
If you use the App from outside the country where you live, support email and Firebase processing may occur in other countries where those services operate.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date.
